Public Health Management Corporation (PHMC) takes a public health approach to care that emphasizes the connection between physical and behavioral health and addresses the social determinants of health. As part of this approach, PHMC offers two campuses that provide comprehensive and integrated services to meet a wide range of health needs.
The PHMC Public Health Campus on Cedar is an innovative public health campus that serves West and Southwest Philadelphia. In partnership with Penn Medicine, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), and the Independence Blue Cross Foundation, our vision is to transform the facility into a 21st century hub for health and wellness. The Cedar Campus currently provides primary and preventive care through the PHMC Health Center on Cedar; general and emergency dentistry through PHMC Dental; an inpatient hospice unit operated by PHMC subsidiary The Visiting Nurse Association of Greater Philadelphia (VNA); and post-acute medical care provided by PHMC Medical Respite on Cedar. The Campus also offers an Emergency Department, inpatient hospital care and psychiatric services, and a crisis response center provided by the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia has set up a crisis response center for pediatric mental and behavioral emergencies that includes a stabilization unit and acute inpatient psychiatry services.
The PHMC Health & Wellness Center offers integrated health services to residents of North Philadelphia. The facility currently provides primary and preventive care through the PHMC Care Clinic, which specializes in delivering services to adults with unique medical needs such as HIV and Hepatitis C. Patients can also receive comprehensive dental care at PHMC Dental. Additionally, PHMC Pharmacy offers convenient medication pick-up and deliveries, monitoring and refill reminders, and coordination with health center providers to facilitate better medication management and health outcomes.
